Imagine church with no cobwebs, wooden pews, hymn books, overhead projector, leaking roof, organ fund... or even church building. That's where you are right now. Welcome to St Pixels, the online church where you can meet others, talk about serious and not-so-serious stuff, discuss what you do and don't believe, go to regular services, and join a pioneering worldwide community.

Nuts, bolts and pennies - St Pixels software
We have looked a bit at the plans to develop the St Pixels community in new and exciting ways. But, like any online community, those developments depend on the software that makes online community possible. Here is some information about what the new software will make possible. Here is some information about St Pixels Expressions, the replacement for LIVE that we need your help to make a reality. Here is an explanation of how we see our wider IT strategy developing, with a move towards open source software and the creation of an in-house software team. And here is a summary of last week's reflections.
Peer to peer discipleship
In the final week of our listening process we will be exploring the concept of peer to peer discipleship. The community leadership team expects this to be one of the key elements of the new, relaunched St Pixels.
Please take the time to give us your thoughts on this. Every member ministry only works if every member ministers...You can also find feedback from week 2 of the listening process. And it's already time to propose new Discuss topics for next week.

Archiving Blogs & Relaxing Hosting
When we move to the new site, we will not be moving the existing blogs with us . If you want to archive your old blogs here, please let the blogs team know. If you do not contact the blogs team, you are saying that it is ok for your blog to be deleted. Please be sure you use this form, as we cannot guarantee we will see your request if you post it elsewhere.
From today, blogs hosting will be relaxed to allow blogs with theological or philosophical content. That does not mean we are going to allow discussions on blogs. As in the past, that still belongs in the Discuss area. Blogs that evolve into discussions will be referred to Welcome Back to Discuss.

New site announcement
It is with a great deal of anticipation that St. Pixels Ltd. Board of Directors announces a major change to our website. A new site running new software, with new avatars and new content, offering new possibilities for online Christian community, will replace the current St. Pixels website on April 5th (Easter Monday). This major upgrade has been in the planning and development stages for quite some time, and it’s just now that we have reached a place to be able make the announcement to go live. It's the start of a new journey - it won't all be finished on Easter Monday. And it's not just about software: it's about providing new ways for people to take part in and contribute to the community. We believe this change gives us a real opportunity to move the community forward in a way that will be good for both current members and those we hope to serve in the future. It will take us all a while to become familiar to new and improved systems, which will include a whole new look on the boards and in LIVE. Our intention is to continue the experiment that has always kept us on the forefront of online church communities. There will of course be questions and concerns, and the CLT, hosting staff and board of directors will do our best to answer them as fully and quickly as we can. There will be a lot more detail over the coming weeks. Please take a look at our FAQs and note that we will be adding to them as your questions unfold. Go ahead and take a look at our announcement on avatars at the same time if you like. Please join us in our excitement as we take St. Pixels to a new and improved place. Discussing Re-imagining St Pixels in LIVE
Jame says
I'd like to announce a structured discussion in LIVE that will take place Saturday, February 13th at 9:30pmGMT/4:30pmEST. We will be discussing the reflections on the six pictures of community being discussed in Reflect as it relates to St. Pixels. We will also repeat this on Monday, February 15th at 9:30GMT/4:30EST for those people who can't make it Saturday. This is to help give voice to those who may or may not post on the boards, to attempt to give everyone a chance to have their say.The discussion will be led by me in Room A. We hope to see you there!
Re-imagining church
Over the last week, many people have posted many different ideas about how St Pixels has been functioning. We value those ideas, and will be presenting a series of summaries for the community to respond to in a week's time.
Meanwhile, the second phase of our community listening process explores six ways of re-imagining church. Please tell us how you react to these very different visions. We would also like to give advance notice that the listening process will be followed by a consultation of members of St Pixels Limited, scheduled to start on the 17th March. During this consultation the directors will present various future policy proposals that take into account the input received through the listening process. We would like as many of you as possible to take part in that consultation. So, if you are not yet a company member, now would be an excellent time to join!
